Trial at the Omsk Agrarian and Technological College under the Ministry of Education of the Omsk Region showed a 44.5% increase in profitability
Yield +38.7% • Profitability +44.5%
Farm profile
- Name
- Omsk Agrarian and Technological College, Omsk Region budgetary vocational institution (trial field)
- Size (ha)
- 20 ha (trial – 9 ha, control – 11 ha)
- Location
- Russia, Omsk Region, Omsk District, Kalachevo village
- Focus
- grain crops (spring soft wheat, Omskaya 38 variety)
Situation
A control study of Bhumi products under Siberian climate and soil conditions.
Wheat growing with standard technology usually depends heavily on chemical seed treatments and pesticides.
Plant protection costs accounted for a significant share of production costs.
The goal was to increase yield and grain quality without losing profitability.
Baseline yield in the control (Klad fungicidal seed treatment, standard treatments) – 17.3 c/ha.
Objective
- Increase yield and grain quality (gluten, test weight, falling number).
- Optimize the plant protection system while maintaining or improving economic performance.
- Test the effectiveness of Vermix as part of a comprehensive program (seed treatment + growing plants).
What we did
A field trial was carried out on ordinary chernozem (pH 6.7) in a “second wheat after fallow” rotation.
Pre-sowing seed treatment:
- Trial: Vermix – 2 l/t
- Control: Klad fungicidal seed treatment – 0.4 l/t
Two treatments were carried out during the growing season (MTZ-82 tractor + OP-2500 sprayer):
- 1st (herbicide): tank mix – Endimion, Saracin, Doping. Vermix 2 l/ha was added in the trial.
- 2nd (fungicide): tank mix – Profi-Super. Vermix 1.5 l/ha + Biorost 0.2 l/ha were added in the trial (Ci-Alpha 0.2 l/ha in the control).
Seeding rate – 160 kg/ha (3.9 million viable seeds/ha). Sown on 12 May 2020, harvested on 30 August by direct combining.

Evidence
- Comparative field trial with control (11 ha) and trial (9 ha) plots on the same field.
- Laboratory grain quality indicators (gluten, test weight, falling number).
- Data on fuel and lubricant, seed and treatment costs (confirmed by tables).
- Agrotechnological map recording all operations (cultivation, sowing, harrowing, two treatments, harvesting).
The technology using Vermix (seed treatment + tank mixes during the growing season) increased wheat yield by 38.7%, improved grain quality and generated additional profit of more than 7,700 RUB/ha, with every ruble invested paying back almost 6.3 times.
